PREPARING FOR YOUR CANINE PHOTOSHOOT

Before every shoot you will receive a free consultation via phone or video call to discuss details. On the day of the shoot when I arrive we’ll have a chat, possibly over a cuppa and discuss any final arrangements. If required I will set up my studio equipment and have a last look around for any other suitable areas.

The most important thing is to bring lots of treats and any favorite toys.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY DOG?

I suggest if possible you bath your dog, either in the morning or evening before your photoshoot. Any collars or clothes should also be clean.

FINE ART 

To achieve the fine art look (Black Background) I do not necessarily need a studio to work in, it could be achieved by using a shaded area on location if preferred

However if a client would like to have photos in a studio setting it is no problem as my studio if fully portable.

IF I AM PLANNING TO BE IN THE PHOTOS, WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

 I am happy for you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in and reflect your personality. However, I do advise clients to wear casual clothing that’s quite neutral as opposed to the latest fashion, which can easily date the photographs. I also advise clients to stay away from striking patterns, spots and brand names as this can distract the eye and take the attention away from faces.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF MY PHOTOSHOOT?

The weather can be unpredictable so if it is just showers forecast we would continue as planned and aim to dodge the showers. On a windy day we can continue and just find some sheltered spots, we can maybe use the wind to our advantage. If the weather looks too bad we may need to postpone or switch to a studio photoshoot.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY  DOG MISBEHAVES OR WONT STAY STILL?

I will be patient and flexible to work with even the most highly strung dog. I will not expect them to do more than they are willing and if we need to take a break this is also fine. If your dog must be kept on a lead during location shoots its not a problem as it can be removed during post processing , in this case a full harnesses should be avoided. The most important thing is for you to relax and enjoy it.
